Introduction to the project
The purpose of the LOCALEAT European cooperation project is to offer local stakeholders practical solutions for turning local food products into a platform for developing the local economy and refocusing value. It is a two-year project (2019-2021) with five strategic objectives:

1
To establish the quality of local products
2
To match supply with demand

3
To develop communication, marketing and education around local products
4
To encourage and promote local food for all

5
To understand the process of seafood sourcing in the private and collective catering sector
A toolkit of techniques has been created to support local stakeholders in their product promotion initiatives. Work seminars are held involving players from each European territory involved to provide better understanding of practices in France, Belgium, Sweden and Finland. At the end of the project, a cookery contest will be held in Finland, in which cooks from the six partner nations will compete.
